A spreading, evergreen, shrubby tree, reaching 8m tall, with rough shredding red-brown bark and mid-green leathery leaves. Flowers are urn-shaped and white, sometimes pink tinged, appearing as the strawberry-like red fruits, from the previous years flowers, ripen.
