Framed Prunus Lusitanica- Portuguese Laurel

£405.49

An attractive plant with dark evergreen narrow leaves that stand out in contrast to the reddish stems  In June the Portuguese laurel will produce an abundance of fragrant yellowish-white flowers on flower spikes which will attract bees and butterflies. The plant can be clipped early in June to prevent flowering if desired. Following flowering, red cherry-like fruits are produced that are a favourite of song birds. Its dense growth habit makes the Portuguese Laurel an ideal nesting location for many small birds.

Portuguese Laurel will grow in full sun or in shade. It grows well in all soil types, but although moderately drought tolerant when established, it is advised that the soil is kept evenly moist for the first year of growth.
