Willow – Salix viminalis
The Willow, or Common Osier, is a fast-growing, deciduous large shrub or small tree to 6m tall, with shiny greenish-yellow young shoots and narrow leaves that are silver-hairy beneath. Slender greenish catkins open before the leaves, in late winter. Male catkins are yellow. This willow is the best plant for basket weaving being very strong but bendy.
